Professional Summary
Contract frontend engineer with over six years of experience building and maintaining production React and Vue.js applications, currently contracting through MoroSystems on enterprise systems for Diebold Nixdorf and Publicis. My remit routinely runs past the frontend itself — into UX and UI design, API contracts between frontend and backend, CI automation, QA tooling and the general ergonomics of a project's development. I laid the groundwork for the frontend of Masaryk University's INJECT exercise platform, choosing its stack and later rewriting its networking core, and grew it from a two-developer prototype into a team of more than ten. I hold a Master's in Computer Science specialising in information security and cryptography, which I keep in active use through code review and secure coding practice. Where there is a reasonable opportunity to build with a newer approach rather than a familiar one, I take it.
Skills
- Frontend: React (18 & 19), Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, GraphQL (Apollo, URQL), Zustand, MUI, HTML5, CSS3
- Testing & Tooling: Cypress, Vitest, CI pipelines, Node.js, Deno, Express.js, Yarn, pnpm, Git
- Programming Languages: JavaScript, C, C++, Python, C#
- Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite
- Practice: Frontend architecture, UX & UI design, secure coding principles, code review, team leadership, Agile & Waterfall
- Spoken Languages: Slovak (native), Czech (professional), English (professional)
Professional Experience
Frontend Developer | MoroSystems
Brno, Czechia | November 2025 - Present (contract)
- Publicis EasyLife (CRM and ad-campaign platform): shipped new features and maintained an established legacy React codebase.
- Diebold Nixdorf Vynamic View 6.0 (ATM and POS management): maintain the shared component library and migrated the React 18 codebase to React 19. The role extends well past the frontend — I consult on the API specifications between frontend and backend, coordinate the project's code reviews, and maintain the Express.js/TypeScript mock server the team develops and tests against.
- Integrated AI-assisted development workflows into the project, and drove CI automation, automated QA testing and developer-experience work to make day-to-day development more ergonomic.
- Gather and clarify requirements directly with the UX and technical teams.
Frontend Developer | Betrian Group
Brno, Czechia | July 2025 - September 2025 (contract)
- Short, tightly scoped engagement maintaining and modernising Tescan FinalApp, an ageing React desktop application.
- Took the project's validation hardware out of the development loop. Testing had required the physical devices — both to exercise certain authentication and authorisation flows and to produce the data those devices emit. I built debugging and mocking flows to stand in for them, so features could be developed and handed to QA without waiting on hardware.
- Modernised the rendering pipeline, which brought a major speed improvement to the desktop client.
- Reworked the caching layer so data refreshes predictably and visibly in a live environment.
- Updated the project's tooling and upgraded the MUI component library to its current major version, modernising the codebase for React 19.
Senior Frontend Developer | Masaryk University (INJECT Project)
Brno, Czechia | March 2023 - June 2025
- Laid the groundwork for the INJECT platform at the KYPO-EDU Department: chose the frontend stack and the solutions built on it, for a project started from the ground up by two core developers (one frontend, one backend) that grew into a team of more than ten. Backend solution selection was the only architectural area outside my remit.
- Rewrote the networking core outright, porting the client from Apollo to URQL and writing custom plugins and solutions tailored to INJECT's own use cases.
- Owned UX and UI design alongside the code, and consulted on API design and on new features. The platform teaches, so the test of a feature was whether it made sense to an instructor and genuinely helped them — a brief that was as pedagogical as it was technical.
- Managed and mentored the junior developers on the team, holding regular 1:1 meetings to support their growth and keep the project aligned.
- Built with React, GraphQL (Apollo, then URQL), Zustand and Go/Python services; the stack shifted deliberately over time as part of the department's research into new web technologies.
Website Developer | Masaryk University (Centre for International Cooperation)
Brno, Czechia | March 2020 - May 2022
- Developed and maintained web applications for the university's international office.
- Worked in React, Vue.js and MongoDB to deliver user-centric features.
Evaluator & Seminar Tutor | Masaryk University
Brno, Czechia | January 2024 - June 2025
- Evaluator, PV286 Secure Coding Principles (February - June 2025): assessed homework and seminar thesis submissions across several languages, giving written feedback on secure coding practice.
- Seminar Tutor, PB071 Programming in C (January - June 2024): tutored undergraduates at the Faculty of Informatics, reinforcing core low-level programming concepts.
Selected Projects
- INJECT Exercise Platform (2023 - 2025) — founded and led the frontend, from the initial stack selection through to a production teaching platform, including an outright rewrite of its networking core.
- rekt.su — this site. A static photography and writing site built with Astro and Tailwind, hand-tuned for a small deploy footprint.
Education
Masaryk University | Brno, Czechia
Master's Degree in Computer Science | September 2022 - June 2025
- Computer Systems, with a focus on Information Security and Cryptography.
- Master's Thesis (graded A): Redesign of the Instructor's User Interface of the INJECT Exercise Platform — an examination of the platform's user experience and frontend performance, which I then carried into the production rewrite.
- Student societies: LEMMA, AGDaM.
Masaryk University | Brno, Czechia
Bachelor's Degree (Bc.) in Applied Informatics | 2018 - 2022
- Bachelor's Thesis (graded A): Security building blocks of cryptocurrencies hardware wallets.
- Student societies: MUNIE, ESN MU.

I am a contractor by nature. What I look for is short-term and complementary work alongside my current engagements, rather than a full-time position.
